Malawi T-bill auction, 2 January 2018: 182-day at 14.50%, down 100 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 January 2018, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 182-day bill at 14.50% (down 100 basis points). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.

Bids totalled MWK 108m and MWK 108m was accepted, 100% of what was bid.

Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 14.18% to 25.40%.

A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 25.50%, so the government is paying 1100 basis points less than twelve months ago.
