At the Treasury bill auction dated 25 July 2017, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 182-day bill at 17.82% (down 418 basis points). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 840m and MWK 840m was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
At 17.82%, the 182-day rate is the lowest in the 32 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 29.00%, so the government is paying 1118 basis points less than twelve months ago.
