At the Treasury bill auction dated 14 April 2015, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 364-day bill at 25.15% (up 33 basis points). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 8.7bn and MWK 7.5bn was accepted, 86% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 18.04% to 26.99%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 17.89%, so the government is paying 726 basis points more than twelve months ago.
