At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 January 2026, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 11.12% (up 3 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.55% (up 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 12.93% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.
Bids totalled GHS 4.8bn and GHS 4.2bn was accepted, 88% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.70% to 30.41%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 30.07%, so the government is paying 1714 basis points less than twelve months ago.
