At the Treasury bill auction dated 30 December 2024, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 28.04% (up 18 basis points), the 182-day bill at 28.68% (up 11 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 30.07% (up 11 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.
Bids totalled GHS 4.6bn and GHS 4.6bn was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 27.79% to 32.34%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 32.49%, so the government is paying 242 basis points less than twelve months ago.
