At the Treasury bill auction dated 24 June 2024, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 24.87% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 26.80% (down 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 27.79% (down 3 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.
Bids totalled GHS 3.6bn and GHS 3.6bn was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
At 27.79%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 48 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 28.91%, so the government is paying 113 basis points less than twelve months ago.
