Ghana T-bill auction, 24 May 2021: 91-day at 12.76%, down 3 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 24 May 2021, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 12.76% (down 3 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 13.54% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.

Bids totalled GHS 629m and GHS 629m was accepted, 100% of what was bid.

At 12.76%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 48 auctions of the past year.

A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 13.87%, so the government is paying 111 basis points less than twelve months ago.
