Ghana T-bill auction, 19 April 2021: 91-day at 12.79%, down 1 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 19 April 2021, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 12.79% (down 1 basis point) and the 182-day bill at 13.53% (down 7 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.

Bids totalled GHS 886m and GHS 886m was accepted, 100% of what was bid.

At 12.79%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 48 auctions of the past year.

A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 13.88%, so the government is paying 109 basis points less than twelve months ago.
