Ghana T-bill auction, 5 April 2021: 91-day at 12.85%, down 3 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 5 April 2021, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 12.85% (down 3 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 13.62% (down 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.
Bids totalled GHS 1.1bn and GHS 1.1bn was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
At 12.85%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 48 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 14.64%, so the government is paying 179 basis points less than twelve months ago.
