Ghana T-bill auction, 1 February 2021: 364-day at 16.96%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 1 February 2021, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 14.06% (down 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.09% (down 4 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 16.96% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.
Bids totalled GHS 1.9bn and GHS 1.2bn was accepted, 65% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 16.70% to 17.81%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 17.88%, so the government is paying 92 basis points less than twelve months ago.
