Ghana T-bill auction, 16 March 2020: 364-day at 17.80%, up 2 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 16 March 2020, the Bank of Ghana cleared the 91-day bill at 14.76% (up 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 15.18% (down 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 17.80% (up 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average interest-rate equivalent.

Bids totalled GHS 890m and GHS 890m was accepted, 100% of what was bid.

Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 17.71% to 18.10%.

A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 18.03%, so the government is paying 23 basis points less than twelve months ago.
