Egypt T-bill auction, 29 September 2026: 364-day at 25.67%, up 21 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 29 September 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.56% (down 7 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.51% (down 18 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.67% (up 21 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 373.3bn against EGP 140.0bn on offer, 267% of the amount sought, and EGP 134.6bn was accepted.
At 25.67%, the 364-day rate is the highest in the 52 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.75%, so the government is paying 7 basis points less than twelve months ago.
