Egypt T-bill auction, 27 May 2025: 364-day at 24.90%, up 7 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 27 May 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 28.02% (down 54 basis points), the 182-day bill at 27.13% (up 5 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.90% (up 7 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 256.9bn against EGP 100.0bn on offer, 257% of the amount sought, and EGP 112.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.98%, so the government is paying 108 basis points less than twelve months ago.
