Egypt T-bill auction, 22 April 2025: 364-day at 24.91%, up 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 22 April 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 28.36% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 26.91% (up 9 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.91% (up 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 209.6bn against EGP 110.0bn on offer, 191% of the amount sought, and EGP 109.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.53% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.93%, so the government is paying 103 basis points less than twelve months ago.
