Egypt T-bill auction, 26 November 2024: 364-day at 26.24%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 November 2024, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 30.92% (up 27 basis points), the 182-day bill at 30.59% (up 26 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 26.24% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 184.1bn against EGP 97.0bn on offer, 190% of the amount sought, and EGP 72.1bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 25.75% to 32.30%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.62%, so the government is paying 38 basis points less than twelve months ago.
