Egypt T-bill auction, 29 October 2024: 364-day at 26.24%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 29 October 2024, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 30.00% (up 10 basis points), the 182-day bill at 29.63% (up 26 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 26.24% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 152.9bn against EGP 80.0bn on offer, 191% of the amount sought, and EGP 68.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 25.75% to 32.30%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.35%, so the government is paying 11 basis points less than twelve months ago.
