Egypt T-bill auction, 27 June 2023: 364-day at 24.04%, down 10 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 27 June 2023, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 23.29% (up 4 basis points), the 182-day bill at 24.19% (up 10 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.04% (down 10 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 81.9bn against EGP 62.0bn on offer, 132% of the amount sought, and EGP 13.9bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 14.09% to 24.14%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 14.07%, so the government is paying 997 basis points more than twelve months ago.
