Egypt T-bill auction, 21 May 2013: 91-day at 14.29%, up 36 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 21 May 2013, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 14.29% (up 36 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 3.7bn against EGP 3.0bn on offer, 125% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 12.30% to 14.75%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 14.31%, so the government is paying 3 basis points less than twelve months ago.
