Egypt T-bill auction, 6 July 2010: 91-day at 10.15%, down 3 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 July 2010, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 10.15% (down 3 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 10.50% (down 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 7.1bn against EGP 3.0bn on offer, 237% of the amount sought, and EGP 3.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 9.56% to 10.29%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 10.16%, so the government is paying 1 basis point less than twelve months ago.
