Egypt T-bill auction, 23 June 2009: 91-day at 10.16%, down 13 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 23 June 2009, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 10.16% (down 13 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 1.5bn against EGP 1.0bn on offer, 150% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 9.86% to 14.03%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 9.70%, so the government is paying 45 basis points more than twelve months ago.
