Egypt T-bill auction, 3 August 2004: 364-day at 12.33%, up 13 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 3 August 2004, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 11.25% (up 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 11.84% (up 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 12.33% (up 13 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 6.6bn against EGP 3.0bn on offer, 219% of the amount sought, and EGP 3.0bn was accepted.
At 12.33%, the 364-day rate is the highest in the 5 auctions of the past year.
