Egypt T-bill auction, 4 November 2003: 182-day at 7.30%, up 6 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 4 November 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 7.30% (up 6 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 2.1bn against EGP 2.0bn on offer, 103% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.5bn was accepted.

Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 5.24% to 14.35%.

A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 7.12%, so the government is paying 18 basis points more than twelve months ago.
