At the Treasury bill auction dated 25 March 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 12.18% (up 133 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled EGP 1.4bn against EGP 1.5bn on offer, 93% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.4bn was accepted.
At 12.18%, the 182-day rate is the highest in the 29 auctions of the past year.
