At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 February 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 8.68% (up 236 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 2.8bn against EGP 1.9bn on offer, 149% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.9bn was accepted.
At 8.68%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 29 auctions of the past year.
