At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 January 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 5.31% (up 7 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 2.5bn against EGP 900m on offer, 282% of the amount sought, and EGP 920m was accepted.
Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 5.24% to 7.63%.
