Egypt T-bill auction, 14 January 2003: 182-day at 5.24%, down 84 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 14 January 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 5.24% (down 84 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 2.9bn against EGP 800m on offer, 358% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.5bn was accepted.
At 5.24%, the 182-day rate is the lowest in the 22 auctions of the past year.
