At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 December 2002, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 5.53% (down 35 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 3.4bn against EGP 1.9bn on offer, 177% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.9bn was accepted.
At 5.53%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 24 auctions of the past year.
