Egypt T-bill auction, 19 December 2002: 91-day at 5.88%, down 22 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 19 December 2002, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 5.88% (down 22 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 3.5bn against EGP 1.3bn on offer, 268% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.3bn was accepted.

At 5.88%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 23 auctions of the past year.
