Egypt T-bill auction, 26 November 2002: 182-day at 6.73%, down 3 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 November 2002, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 6.73% (down 3 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 2.5bn against EGP 1.6bn on offer, 159% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.6bn was accepted.

At 6.73%, the 182-day rate is the lowest in the 17 auctions of the past year.
