At the Treasury bill auction dated 5 November 2002, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 7.10% (down 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 3.2bn against EGP 1.5bn on offer, 214% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.5bn was accepted.
At 7.10%, the 182-day rate is the lowest in the 15 auctions of the past year.
