Egypt T-bill auction, 17 October 2002: 91-day at 6.69%, down 3 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 17 October 2002, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 6.69% (down 3 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 2.2bn against EGP 800m on offer, 276% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.1bn was accepted.

At 6.69%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 15 auctions of the past year.
