Egypt T-bill auction, 1 October 2002: 182-day at 7.27%, down 28 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 1 October 2002, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 7.27% (down 28 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 2.2bn against EGP 700m on offer, 314% of the amount sought, and EGP 755m was accepted.

At 7.27%, the 182-day rate is the lowest in the 10 auctions of the past year.
