Kenya T-bill auction, 28 September 2026: 91-day at 8.778%, down 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 September 2026, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 8.778% (down 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 8.895% (down 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 9.043% (down 1 basis point).
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled KES 41.7bn against KES 28.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 149%. The government accepted KES 33.4bn, or 80% of what was bid.
The 91-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 222% subscribed.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 7.400% to 8.835%.
