Kenya T-bill auction, 25 September 2023: 91-day at 14.787%, up 27 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 25 September 2023, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 14.787% (up 27 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.940% (up 53 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 15.221% (up 49 basis points).
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled KES 20.2bn against KES 24.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 84%. The government accepted KES 18.8bn, or 93% of what was bid.
The 91-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 402% subscribed.
At 14.787%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 52 auctions of the past year.
