Kenya T-bill auction, 20 April 2020: 91-day at 7.201%, down 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 20 April 2020, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 7.201% (down 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 8.089% (down 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 9.091% (up 5 basis points).
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled KES 14.3bn against KES 24.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 60%. The government accepted KES 14.3bn, or 100% of what was bid.
The 364-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 109% subscribed.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 6.307% to 7.319%.
