Kenya T-bill auction, 2 September 2019: 91-day at 6.385%, down 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 September 2019, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 6.385% (down 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 7.011% (down 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 9.392% (up 14 basis points).
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled KES 18.8bn against KES 24.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 78%. The government accepted KES 17.9bn, or 95% of what was bid.
The 91-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 133% subscribed.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 6.355% to 7.697%.
