Kenya T-bill auction, 4 January 2016: 91-day at 10.845%
At the Treasury bill auction dated 4 January 2016, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 10.845%, the 182-day bill at 12.762% (up 229 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.254%.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled KES 10.1bn against KES 16.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 63%. The government accepted KES 6.9bn, or 69% of what was bid.
The 364-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 77% subscribed.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 8.124% to 22.492%.
