Kenya T-bill auction, 7 January 2013: 91-day at 8.122%, down 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 7 January 2013, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 8.122% (down 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 8.100% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 11.670%.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled KES 10.3bn against KES 12.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 86%. The government accepted KES 8.0bn, or 78% of what was bid.
The 364-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 189% subscribed.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 7.515% to 20.799%.
