Kenya T-bill auction, 10 October 2011: 91-day at 14.836%, up 134 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 10 October 2011, the Central Bank of Kenya cleared the 91-day bill at 14.836% (up 134 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.283% (up 166 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 14.499%.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled KES 17.2bn against KES 12.0bn on offer, a subscription rate of 143%. The government accepted KES 16.3bn, or 95% of what was bid.
The 91-day paper drew the most interest relative to its size, at 323% subscribed.
At 14.836%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 17 auctions of the past year.
